STUDIES OF SLAVONIC FOLKLORE (SLAVISTICKÁ FOLKLORISTIKA)
Information bulletin. The Centre of International Council of Slavonic Folklore of International Committee of Slavists. Since 1988 published by the Institute of Ethnography of Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava (now the Institute of Ethnology of Slovak Academy of Sciences), supported by the Slovak Committee of Slavists in Bratislava and the Institute of Ethnography and Folkloristics ČSAV v Brno (now the Institute of Ethnology at AV ČR). An editorial office is in the Slavistic Institute of Ján Stanislav at Slovak Academy of Sciences in Bratislava.
An establishment of the bulletin was inspired by an increased need of information about national folkloristic sections of the International Committee of Slavonic Folklore after 1988. The aim of the journal is to provide information and networking for folklorists and slavists from Slavonic countries as well as researchers coming from Slavistic institutions in non-Slavonic or overseas countries. The contributors come from all over Europe, especially from Slavonic countries and provide mostly information on recent publications, and Slavist events in their countries. Bulletin is divided into permanent sections: Editorials - published in both German and in original language – are devoted to topical conceptual and organisational issues related to Slavistic folkloristics, for instance research proceedings, Slavistic congresses, broader comparative research in Slavonic and non-Slavonic countries. Another regular sections are Information and Literature provide up-to-date information about projects of individual research institutes and universities, research events and conferences, brief reviews of publications, periodicals, monographs and academic studies published in periodicals and edited volumes. The section Personal reminds readers about jubilees of both past and present slavists and in particular slavist folklorists. The bulletin publishes current lists of the board members and the council of International Committee of Slavonic Folkloristics, current lists of members of the International Committee of Slavonic Folkloristics and directories.
Editorial board: Viera Gašparíková – Bratislava (the president of former Czech and Slovak Commission of Slavonic Folklore at International Committee of Slavonic Folkloristics, Hana Hlôšková – Bratislava (the vice president of the International Committee of Slavonic Folkloristics), and Jana Pospíšilová – Brno, Gabriela Kiliánová and Katarína Žeňuchová – Bratislava (members of the International Committee of Slavonic Folkloristics).
